Enjoy a scenic ride up the Lighthouse Road in a SLO SafeRide van to the Point San Luis Lighthouse where you will be met by a docent and led on a personalized tour of the buildings and grounds of this historic site established in 1890. 

The Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers welcomes you to join our docent-led interpretive tours to experience a rich history of the beautifully restored Lighthouse, the Hornhouse, and other structures. Our tours will give you a glimpse into the lives of Lighthouse Keepers and their families while helping keep our jewel of the Central Coast preserved and protected. Point San Luis is part of the Port San Luis Harbor District.

Our mission is to restore, preserve, maintain, and operate the Point San Luis Lighthouse Station, circa 1890, as a historical, educational, and recreational site, for the use and enjoyment of the public through tours, events, and educational programs. Point San Luis is part of the Harbor District’s vision of maintaining a sustainable harbor that preserves our marine heritage and character.

We are a 501(c)3 charitable organization and are supported by people like you. Proceeds from tours, weddings, memberships, events, donations, and special events all go into preserving the Lighthouse and it’s history.

The Libertine Roast Battle Finals take over the main stage!

Tuesday, October 7th from 8–10pm.

Comics will go head-to-head with their relentless jokes with the panel of judges deciding who takes home the title of Libertine Roast Battle Champion!

This show will also feature stand-up sets from Kiki Andersen and Keith Carey, as well as exhibition battles with comics knocked out in previous rounds, bringing even more fire to the finals.

At Thanksgiving, the Blake family gathers at the run-down Manhattan apartment in Chinatown of Brigid Blake and her boyfriend Richard. Brigid's parents, Erik Blake and Deirdre Blake, arrive from their home in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to have dinner with Brigid, Richard and Aimee, their other adult daughter. Brigid is a musician and Aimee is a lawyer living in Philadelphia. Aimee has recently broken up with her girlfriend and has developed an intestinal ailment. Also present is Erik's mother, Fiona ("Momo"), who has Alzheimer's disease. The parents are unhappy that their daughters have left home and have abandoned their religion. The family members must deal with "aging, illness, and a changing economy".

October 10-26. This show is 90 minutes with no intermission, so please come early to secure desired seats and purchase beer or wine plus snacks.

Creek Lands Conservation invites you to celebrate the restoration efforts underway on your local San Luis Obispo Creek!

Thanks to the Harold J. Miossi Charitable Trust, Creek Lands Conservation and local partners have been hard at work protecting and restoring SLO Creek — a vital corridor for native wildlife that is treasured by our local community. Together, we’ve created a bold roadmap to restore the creek and ensure its native species thrive for generations.

Come celebrate this milestone with us at our upcoming State of the SLO Creek Watershed fundraiser! The evening will cap three years of working closely with partners and stakeholders to restore this Central Coast jewel, revive beloved native species, and safeguard its waters for future generations.  Come meet the partners behind the scenes and find out where we’re headed and how you can play a role in protecting your local creek. An exciting presentation and panel discussion will highlight our key findings and reveal a roadmap for long-term restoration. Then, we're going to party with a silent auction, live music, a food truck, and beer and wine!

All proceeds from ticket sales and purchases at the event go directly towards our restoration efforts. You can play a part in restoring your local native species simply by attending!

The City of Atascadero and the Central Coast Zoo are excited to announce ZOO BOO! This fun annual event will be available over two evenings! It’s a popular evening, so we are extending the options to Friday, October 24th or Saturday, October 25th from 4:30-7:30 pm!

Enjoy Halloween fun for all ages with a spooktacular evening in store with a not-too-scary evening throughout the Zoo! You can expect Halloween decorations throughout the Zoo along with Carnival games, live DJ playing spooky music, Halloween activities, a Haunted Maze plus tricks, treats & more! Put on your favorite costume for prizes! 

A variety of amazing animals call the Central Coast Zoo home, including red pandas, monkeys, meerkats, parrots, a variety of reptiles and more! Come celebrate an entertaining and memorable Halloween evening at Zoo Boo!

Each Sound Journey—also known as a Sound Bath—offers a gentle, immersive experience featuring a soothing soundscape created by crystal and metal singing bowls, chimes, gongs, and other therapeutic instruments. These calming sounds help ease tension, quiet the mind, and encourage a deep sense of inner peace. Anomaly House is proud to present The Office Party at the End of Time: An Immersive Haunted Theatrical and Musical Experience!

You are cordially invited to a Halloween celebration at the crossroads between the realms of the living and the dead. Ghosts and spirits will be in attendance, and a special concert will be put on in the Room of Lost Souls. Attend if you dare!

Inspired by the the classic film, Beetlejuice, this event will be set at a Halloween party taking place at the Afterlife Office, where the recently departed wait to see what fate awaits them in the world beyond. Guests in attendance will interact with actors playing the ghosts of people who have recently died, and event staff will portray the ghastly office workers who help spirits along the way. Beyond the office will be the Room of Lost Souls, where Wormreaper (Dirgecore/Post-Metal), Sutratma (Funeral Doom), and Placenta (Dark Ambient Industrial) will be performing live music throughout the event. Between the musical performances, Claudia Bubbles, The Great Mancar, and Fae Fatale will keep audiences entertained with horror drag performances. Art will also be on display by Rotten Strawberries.

Admission is $20. We will only accept cash and Venmo at the door on show day. Hors D'oueuvres and non-alcoholic beverages are included with the tickets. Beer and wine will be available for purchase for guest 21 and over.

This is an all-ages event, but guests under age 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Please note that while the show will be "PG-13," there will be strong elements of horror present throughout. The event will also feature stage fog, loud sounds, and flashing lights. Attendee discretion is advised.

Join us for a journey toward wholeness, vitality, and deep inner peace. Each of us carries a quiet map within — a pathway of energy centers that shape and influence the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our lives: how we feel, move, connect, and grow. The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means ‘wheel’, as the chakras are seen as spinning wheels of energy within our bodies that can be influenced by how we live our lives. 

Our Chakra Flow Sound Journey Series invites you to explore these inner landscapes, one by one — from root to crown and beyond — through simple, integrative practices.  

Each session focuses on a specific chakra — helping you understand its strengths, signals, and what helps bring it into balance. For this date, we focus on the Heart Chakra. In Sanskrit it is known as Anahata - translates to "unstruck”, “unhurt”, “unbeaten”. This wheel of energy center is associated with unconditional love in its purest form. Centered in the chest, the Heart Chakra bridges the physical and emotional realms. It’s about connection, compassion, and love — both for yourself and others. A balanced heart chakra supports healthy boundaries and meaningful relationships.

The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program ( HICAP) will take much of the mystery out of this challenge. Come find out what you need to know so that you can make informed decisions as this class will describe the various plan choices for 2026.

HICAP provides free and objective information and counseling about Medicare. A volunteer counselor will help you understand your specific rights and health care options. HICAP also offers free educational presentations to groups of Medicare beneficiaries, their families and/or providers on a variety of Medicare and other health insurance related topics.

Buff Lawson has been working with HICAP since the start of Medicare Part D in 2006. She is currently a volunteer registered counselor and community educator. Before retiring, her professional experience included working in the social services and corporate worlds, and finally as a business school university professor.

sword ii is a rising indie rock band from Atlanta that blends sludgy indie-rock grit with electronic ambient textures and inventive song structures—setting them apart with their bold sound. Critics and fans praise their genre-defying sound and immersive, haunting musical landscapes. 

The Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles celebrates its 20th anniversary season since its revival in 2006. The celebration includes four days of concerts, wine, and special events honoring the Festival's patron Ignacy Jan Paderewski on what would have been his 165th birthday.

Sara and Callie are walking through New York City's West Village very late at night, when they share their first kisses. This leads to a vicious attack by an angry bystander, in which Sara is horribly injured. She falls into a coma, which becomes one of the major subjects of the play. George, Callie's good friend, tries to help with the situation, but there is little he can do. Peter, Sara's ex-boyfriend from St. Louis, comes to help nurse her back to health. Throughout Stop Kiss, relationships are explored, formed, and even ended. Diana Son elaborates on the depths of human emotion and compassion in this play. Nov 7-16

Most of us recall that on December 7, 1941, a Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor drew us into the Second World War. Yet anyone living on the West Coast at the time and paying the slightest attention knew that the US and Japan had been on a collision course for decades as each tried to outflank the other as the dominant economic and cultural force in the Pacific. In 1935 the SLO Tribune foretold the coming of the next war, and declared that when it came the Central Coast would be right in the middle.

Textbooks and TV specials usually don’t report much about the pre-war build-up on the Central Coast. This course will try to fill in some of the gaps. 

Dick Miller is a frequent taker and giver of LLCC courses. He’s an academic historian in recovery.

TONIGHT'S THEME: Balancing Your Third Eye Chakra

Journey Through the Chakras ~

Join us for a journey toward wholeness, vitality, and deep inner peace. Each of us carries a quiet map within — a pathway of energy centers that shape and influence the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our lives: how we feel, move, connect, and grow. The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means ‘wheel’, as the chakras are seen as spinning wheels of energy within our bodies that can be influenced by how we live our lives. 

Our Chakra Flow Sound Journey Series invites you to explore these inner landscapes, one by one — from root to crown and beyond — through simple, integrative practices.  

Each session focuses on a specific chakra — helping you understand its strengths, signals, and what helps bring it into balance. For this date, we focus on the Third Eye Chakra. In Sanskrit it is known as Ajna  which translates to "perceive," "command," or "beyond wisdom”. Situated between the eyebrows, the Third Eye Chakra governs insight, clarity, and intuition. It’s not about fortune-telling — it’s about perspective, inner knowing, and seeing beyond surface-level thinking. Its energy transcends the physical, connecting us to the metaphysical realms of insight and intuition as we search for our purpose and direction.

No prior/future attendance required — each class is a complete experience. Come for this session and/or continue the journey with future classes in this series, every 1st and 3rd Tuesday through December.

Through sound and intentional, mindful practices, tune in to the rhythm of your body and the wisdom it holds. Energy centers can become imbalanced, blocked, or stagnant for many reasons, such as everyday stressors or unresolved experiences, which manifest as physical, emotional, mental, and/or spiritual challenges. Balancing your chakras is a practice — a lifestyle — rooted in intention, self-awareness, and self-care. There is no one-size-fits-all or quick fix.

The Sound Journey serves as a powerful integration of each theme’s teachings — allowing you to not just understand at the cognitive level, but also to embody the experience on a deeper, subconscious level.

 Sound can play a powerful role in supporting and balancing each chakra and organs in the body through specific frequencies, vibrations, and tones that resonate with, and activate, these energy centers.

Let waves of sound and vibration — from crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other intentional healing instruments — wash through and around you. These soothing sounds help regulate the nervous system, recalibrate your energy body, and return you to your natural, balanced vibrational state.

You’ll be held in a safe, therapeutic space where true relaxation, insight, and transformation can unfold.

"Joyful Rhythms" Drum Circle

Monthly Facilitated Drum & Rhythm Experiences for Health and Well-being

Discover the transformative power of rhythm and connection through creative play in a fun-focused, dynamic drumming circle.

Join us for our monthly Drum Circle - a fun, unique, and uplifting social experience at the Chumash Village Clubhouse in SLO. It's a welcoming, inclusive space for all! 

We emphasize social connection, emotional release, and the grounding power of rhythm as tools to nurture well-being from the inside out. 

NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!

Our circles welcome those who have never touched a drum before (but always felt drawn to the rhythmic beats). NO drumming experience is needed — just bring your curiosity and willingness to have fun! Participants are encouraged to express themselves freely without worrying about “getting it right”.  It’s more about experience than technical skill. 

Participants are gently guided through an engaging process that uses rhythm to awaken creativity, connection, and joy. Through simple instructions, playful rhythm games, and dynamic activities, the group is invited to explore the instruments, build confidence, and connect with one another. Over time, the music begins to flow more freely and organically, as we co-create a rhythm ensemble that’s alive and ever-changing.

And the added bonus? It’s oh-so-GOOD for you!

Research shows that group drumming offers a joyful and engaging way to support well-being — all while having a great time. It promotes stress relief, mental clarity, emotional release, physical vitality, and a sense of community, helping you feel energized, deeply connected, and smiling from the inside out!

The annual New Times Music Awards are designed to showcase music and songwriting from local musicians throughout the Central Coast of California in a wide variety of genres including Rock/Alternative, Country/Americana/Folk, Hip-Hop, R&B/Blues, Open and Cover.

The 2025 NTMA’s will continue the tradition of presenting the first place finishers in each category with a custom-designed New Times Music Award - a "Newtie". These musicians will also receive a spot at the Winners Showcase where they will compete against one another for the Best Live Performance award. A panel of local music industry judges will determine the best live performer, who will also receive a special customized trophy.

Second and third place winners in the six genres, songwriting, and album categories will receive specially designed plaques. All winners will be honored at the 2024 showcase, happening Friday, November 21st at SLO Brew Rock Event Center. Come celebrate the best local live music!

Our Chakra Flow Sound Journey Series invites you to explore these inner landscapes, one by one — from root to crown and beyond — through simple, integrative practices.  

Each session focuses on a specific chakra — helping you understand its strengths, signals, and what helps bring it into balance. For this date, we focus on the Crown Chakra. Located at the top of the head, the Crown Chakra connects you to a sense of purpose, presence, and something greater than yourself — whether that’s spirituality, universal energy, or simply a deeper sense of meaning and peace. The annual FNL Reindeer Run brings the community together to participate in a festive 5k run/walk to celebrate the winter season and raise money for student scholarships! 

The SLO County Friday Night Live Reindeer Run is a 5k fun run that promotes wellness and healthy lifestyles among youth and families in San Luis Obispo County. The 5k route begins at Mitchell Park in San Luis Obispo and follows the Railroad Trail to Orcutt Road, returning to Mitchell Park via Broad and Santa Barbara Streets. The majority of the course is on the trail or sidewalks, and will have volunteers cheering participants on along the way. Participants, volunteers, and spectators are encouraged to dress in their favorite holiday attire and kick off the winter season! 

Day of registration will be available - please note the registration fees increase by $5 for day of registration! Children under the age of 5 are free. All paid registrations receive a commemorative Reindeer Run t-shirt and a ticket for breakfast following the run.

The Reindeer Run will follow all public health guidelines as applicable.

Darkness to Light — Honoring the Turning of the Wheel

As the earth tilts toward the light once more, we gather in rhythm and reverence to honor the turning of the season. The Winter Solstice calls us to pause — to breathe, to listen, and to remember the light that lives within even the quietest of days.

The Winter Solstice marks the mid-point of winter and brings the promise of new beginnings as we move out of the darkness and into increasingly lighter, warmer days.

Through the heartbeat of the drum, we’ll journey together — releasing what is ready to be set free, planting seeds of new intention, and celebrating the warmth that rises when community gathers in joy and gratitude.

This is a gentle invitation to come together — especially for those who may be feeling the tenderness of the season or carrying the weight of loss. Here, no one needs to be alone. We’ll hold space for one another in kindness, connection, and the shared rhythm of our hearts.

Feel the pulse of life as we drum together, connecting with the grounding rhythms of Earth and the season, keeping our spirits warm and cheery. 

1. Community Potluck: Our time together will begin with a potluck to share warmth, nourishment, and gratitude. Bring a dish that represents warmth, comfort, or light (soups, breads, golden foods). 
2. Drumming to celebrate life, rhythm, renewal, and relationship - to self, to earth, to one another through drumming, rhythmic meditation, song, and storytelling.

This musical celebrates the life and music of country music legend Patsy Cline, told through the lens of her friendship with a devoted fan, Louise Seger. The show explores the emotional journey of their bond, complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even some audience participation. It features many of Patsy’ unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight…27 songs in all. The show’s title was inspired by Cline’s letters to Seger, which were consistently signed “Love ALWAYS… Patsy Cline.” Jan 9-25

If you want to know where your city taxes go and why your streets are forever being repaired, this class is for you. The mayor of Atascadero, Charles Bourbeau, will share his insight of how a small city on the Central Coast operates while pointing out how the county’s many cities differ.  

He will share the basic organization and services of city government and how the different revenue sources support services. He will extend his talk to discuss community development and how the state drives the decision making by the city.

Finally, he will share his thoughts on why some city councils work and why some don’t and, most importantly, how to get involved. He plans to make himself available for questions after his presentation.

Charles Bourbeau was born in Iowa and raised in Modesto CA. After finishing Cal Poly he began a long career working full time for the California National Guard, retiring as a Colonel responsible for all federal funding, equipment, property, and contracting. Upon retirement he became a serial volunteer for many activities before being elected to the Atascadero City Council in 2016 and 2020, and Mayor in 2024.

California has been identified by the FBI as one of the nation’s top four destination states for trafficked persons and San Luis Obispo County is a natural corridor for human trafficking activities between Los Angeles and San Francisco as well as the Central Valley and the Central Coast.  Though human trafficking is illegal under federal and California law, victims often do not know where to turn for help and community members may not know where to report suspicious situations.

This course is a “Human Trafficking 101” lesson presented by a representative of the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office. Officer J.T. Camp  will discuss the crime of human trafficking, aspects of human trafficking and the subculture.  You will be briefed on what human trafficking on the Central Coast actually looks like.  

Assistant Chief Investigator JT Camp has been a California Peace Officer for thirty years.  He is a recognized expert in human trafficking, has taught for nearly ten years on the topic, and is one of the original members of the SLO County Anti Human Trafficking Task Force and the SLO County Counter Human Trafficking Team.  He has investigated the crime of human trafficking since 2014.

We will have a trusted professional luthier at the event who will be able to do set-ups, adjustments, string changes, and so much more. Nate Largay is the luthier that Rich uses for intensive guitar repairs that he can't do himself. Nate offers fantastic prices and was working on guitars all weekend long at the last Fest.

Christopher Robin has decided to run away with his friends Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger and the rest. Probably they'll go to the North Pole or to the South Pole. For there is a dark, mysterious threat that he's to be sent away to Education. Nobody knows exactly what or where that is, and if he's sent to such a distant place, what can his friends possibly do without him? So it's generally agreed that they'll run away. As the situation becomes clearer, Christopher Robin isn't quite so sure that running away is the answer. March 13-29

The 13th Annual Ventura County Farm Day has been moved from November 8, 2025, to April 11th, 2026.

Moving Ventura County Farm Day to April aligns with our mission to provide hands-on, STEM-based education during the season when local farms are at their most vibrant. In spring, when growth and renewal are all around, farms become a living classroom where you can gather practical knowledge to use in your own garden, kitchen, or classroom.

On April 11th, doors and gates will open countywide for a full day of exploration, learning, and connection. This move means more sunshine, more activities, and more opportunities to celebrate and honor the hands and lands that feed us.

We’re buzzing with excitement for a bigger and better Ventura County Farm Day and hope you can join us in April!

What is Farm Day?
Farm Day is a multiple-location one-day celebration of the hands and lands that feed us presented by SEEAG, a 501c3 nonprofit orgnanization that educates students and the greater community about the farm origins of their food. Farm Day is one of SEEAG's four unique education programs, offered 100% FREE for all community members.

Farm Day is a self-guided tour. Registrants are encouraged to explore numerous participating locations at their leisure. Whether you spend your day at one location or traveling across the county, this flexible day of fun allows you to personalize your experience to what interests you. Farm Day offers behind-the-scenes tours, trailer rides, tastings, giveaways and kid-friendly activities. 

Why register?
Pre-registration will make checking in at each location fast and easy. Register once and recieve QR access to all locations, this means no long lines. Registration includes important updates about Farm Day leading up to the event!

On Saturday, April 11th, 2026, more than 15 Ventura County farms, ranches, and agricultural organizations will open their doors and invite the public to experience a day of ag-tivities and free tours during the 7th Annual SBC Farm Day. 

You may ask, with so many farms involved, how do you decide which locations to visit between 10am to 3pm? Farm Day is a self-guided experience, SEEAG has created a Farm Day Trail Map that will provide you and your family the information you need to plan your itinerary for the day. Attendees typically find the most success when aiming to see 3-4 farms during the day. Each location provides a different experience ranging from tastings, tours, lessons, kid activities, or a combination. There truly is something for everyone!
