The GTP opens up exclusive deals and access - no reservations! - for 12 months of tasting fun. Just $69 for the year - which is less than the average price of two tastings at a single winery. Savings kick in after two winery visits! Explore new regions or visit old favorites, the choice is up to you!

Join us for a docent-led tour of the buildings and grounds of the historic Point San Luis Light Station.
Enjoy a scenic ride up the Lighthouse Road in a SLO SafeRide van to the Point San Luis Lighthouse where you will be met by a docent and led on a personalized tour of the buildings and grounds of this historic site established in 1890.
The Point San Luis Lighthouse Keepers welcomes you to join our docent-led interpretive tours to experience a rich history of the beautifully restored Lighthouse, the Hornhouse, and other structures. Our tours will give you a glimpse into the lives of Lighthouse Keepers and their families while helping keep our jewel of the Central Coast preserved and protected. Point San Luis is part of the Port San Luis Harbor District.
Our mission is to restore, preserve, maintain, and operate the Point San Luis Lighthouse Station, circa 1890, as a historical, educational, and recreational site, for the use and enjoyment of the public through tours, events, and educational programs. Point San Luis is part of the Harbor District’s vision of maintaining a sustainable harbor that preserves our marine heritage and character.
We are a 501(c)3 charitable organization and are supported by people like you. Proceeds from tours, weddings, memberships, events, donations, and special events all go into preserving the Lighthouse and it’s history.
As with most theaters, ticket sales alone cannot keep us afloat. We rely on other income to help fund our productions and ongoing expenses. No one in our organization gets paid, and we are a non-profit business, so all money goes toward purchasing Rights and Royalties, set construction and decoration, advertising, printing, costuming, etc. Your donation is tax-deductible, and can be earmarked for the General Fund or for any area that you specify. If you are interested in sponsoring a show, please contact us.

The Pecho Coast Trail is located on the south end of the PG&E property and accessed through Avila Beach. This is a 3.75-mile roundtrip hike to Point San Luis Lighthouse.

The hike takes visitors up to the Port’s Historic Point San Luis Lighthouse. Visitors can enjoy a short docent-led tour of the lighthouse by paying a $10 admission fee.
Pecho Coast Trail has been open for guided hikes since 1993 and is known for its panoramic views of Avila Beach. Hikers are treated to stunning landscapes while learning interesting facts from docent naturalists. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent has become a pop cultural phenomenon. with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.

The physical and emotional complications of the disease pervade the lives of Roger, Mimi, Tom and Angel. Maureen deals with her chronic infidelity through performance art; her partner, Joanne, wonders if their relationship is worth the trouble. Benny has sold out his Bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general. Sound Journeys / Oncology Care
Resonance, Resilience, and Radiant Well-being
Monthly therapeutic wellness experiences for individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment, living with cancer, or in post-cancer care. Families and healthcare providers are also warmly welcome.
FREE SERIES! Sponsored by Adventist Health- Sierra Vista in SLO
Join us for a soothing, nourishing, and revitalizing Sound Journey experience facilitated by Dee DiGioia of Mindful Kindful YOUniversity. Each Sound Journey—also known as a Sound Bath—offers a gentle, immersive experience featuring a soothing soundscape created by crystal and metal singing bowls, chimes, gongs, and other therapeutic instruments. These calming sounds help ease tension, quiet the mind, and encourage a deep sense of inner peace. Complementary practices such as breathwork, rhythm, and gentle movement may also be integrated for promoting deep relaxation and restoring balance to the body and mind.
The Benefits of Sound Journeys
Sound immersion is widely recognized as a valuable complement to conventional medical and mental health care. Scientific research has shown that sound immersion experiences can support many dimensions of physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being by:
- Reducing stress and anxiety
- Increasing relaxation
- Providing pain relief
- Supporting immune function
- Lowering blood pressure and calming heart rate
- Improving sleep quality
- Enhancing mood and emotional resilience
- Enhancing body awareness
How Sound Works
Sound frequencies facilitate profound relaxation and potentiate healing by engaging the parasympathetic nervous system—the part of the nervous system responsible for rest, repair, and digestion. As the body shifts out of a stress response and into a state of safety and ease, deep restoration becomes possible.
One of the key mechanisms behind this is brainwave entrainment, which occurs when the brain’s fluctuating electrical patterns begin to synchronize with a stable external rhythm. Instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and chimes emit frequencies that gently guide the brain into slower, more meditative states—such as alpha and theta waves—supporting clarity, creativity, and inner stillness.
This process not only releases tension but also helps clear blocked or stagnant energy that may underlie mental, emotional, or physical challenges. Many participants report feeling lighter, calmer, and more grounded afterward.
As the nervous system resets and the energetic body rebalances, revitalizing energy emerges and flows naturally. In this coherent state, your body’s innate intelligence is activated, restoring balance, harmony, and connection to your true nature—your natural, healthy vibrational state.

Who We Are
The SLO Blues Organization has three (3) main objectives. Our first is to provide first-rate and affordable family entertainment to California’s Central Coast residents. We believe it is our responsibility as a local business to give back to this great community. To this end, we have established Outreach Programs like the Charity Partners Program, the Educational Partner Program, and the Blues Buddies Program. Our second objective is to mentor and advance the professional and physical skills of collegiate ballplayers at the highest level of competition. Local and national Division I baseball players continue their development with Blues while temporarily away from their parent college or university. Our third objective is to continue and expand our internship program which focuses on a learn-by-doing approach. We take great pride in our interns’ involvement in nearly every aspect of operations, and will have more than 30 individuals each season.
California Collegiate League
Founded in 1993, the California Collegiate League is one of the premiere college summer baseball destinations in America. Ten teams are spread across the great state of California. During June and July, top college baseball players compete for the MLB Academy Barons, Arroyo Seco Saints, Conejo Oaks, Orange County Riptide, San Luis Obispo Blues, Santa Barbara Foresters, Menlo Park Legends, San Francisco Seagulls, Sonoma Stompers and Walnut Creek Crawdads.
Our Thanks
The Blues have always depended upon local support for survival. We hope our passion in what we do shows in every pitch and crack of the bat. We are both proud and grateful to be serving the Central Coast. We would like to hear from you. Please send any comments, compliments or suggestions to [email protected]

A small town’s obsessive love of their high school’s football squad sets the backdrop for this epic true story of a season spent in a pressure cooker. New coach (Billy Bob Thornton) has to justify his methods and earn the trust of the team and the town, while everyone in the football program juggles domestic dramas and familial needs making their demands on the focus it takes for the team to live up to it’s own great name. All proceeds from the show benefit MBHS Pirates football trip to Hawaii this summer.
Help the Morro Bay High School Pirates Football Team fund their trip to play for the first time out of state in Maui! The team made it to the CIF Championship last year, and is looking forward to another great season! This is a unique opportunity for the team to travel to another place together, experience and play in a different state and culture. Many animals produce beautiful mating displays, but their evolution is a puzzle because they seem incompatible with survival. Darwin first proposed a viable explanation, but how we view his theory and how we study mating behavior has changed since then. In this multi-media presentation, Dr. Kolluru will speculate on the past and future of studying mating behavior and its consequences in animals, including humans. Come see why her "Biology of Sex" class has become one of the most popular on the Cal Poly campus. And if you have any "Ask Dr. Gita..." questions, we undoubtedly will have some interesting conversations!
During this course you will see filmed scenes of animals mating and hear discussion about sex in animals including humans. If this makes you uncomfortable this course may not be appropriate for you.
Cal Poly Professor Gita Kolluru has spent a lifetime studying the mating tactics of fish and insects. Dr. Kolluru is a Canadian transplant who left Ontario, Canada for nearby Ontario, California to do her MA and PhD at UC Riverside. She has studied fish in Cuba, Trinidad and Costa Rica, and crickets in Hawaii. She identifies her work as studying the costs and benefits of sexually selected displays and aggressive intermale interactions.
Hold on to your seats—Off the Cuff is about to take you on a comedy ride you won’t forget!
We’re tossing out the script and diving headfirst into a whirlwind of improv tomfoolery. Whether it’s lightning-fast shortform games or longform scenes that leave you questioning your sanity, this show will truly be off the cuff.

A Tribute to Arlo & Woody Guthrie Concert
Come celebrate legendary folk singers Woody & Arlo Guthrie on Sunday, June 1 at Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre (CCAT)! We'll cover a wide range of topical ballads and broadsides, from Woody's Dust Bowl Ballads, to Arlo's hits like City of New Orleans.
The performers include local duo Bay Love, Cambria's own Bev Prayer, Central Coast faves Chet Perryess, and Holly Ann Lewis, Carpinteria's The Dennis & Laura Show, SoCal songsters Kern Richards and Steve Bannon, and several Santa Cruz area musicians: Michael Gaither, Woody Bell and Lola Guthrie.
Woodrow Wilson Guthrie was an American singer-songwriter and composer who was one of the most significant figures in American folk music. "This Land is Your Land" is his best-known work, but Guthrie also wrote hundreds of country, folk, and children's songs. Arlo went on to record and perform his father's music, as well as create new originals, such as "Alice's Restaurant Massacree", a satirical talking blues song about 18 minutes in length that has since become a Thanksgiving anthem.
The concert is produced by Songwriters at Play, husband-wife team Steve Key and Bonnie Nelson-Key. Their tributes at CCAT have included the music of Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Baez, and Bob Dylan. www.songwritersatplay.com
The show starts at 4 pm (with doors opening at 3:30). Tickets are priced at $40 for general admission, $30 for Jazz Federation members and $10 for students. Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church is located at 1701 Fredericks Street in SLO. See www.slojazz.org for more information.

The United States has a long history of first welcoming, then expelling refugees who sought escape from war, persecution, violence and privation abroad. This course will focus on one telling refugee group, our Cambodian allies during the Viet Nam War. Their American immigrant experience will explore the legal grounds for deportation, the processes of expulsion, and the human costs of double displacement and betrayal.
The deportation of legal permanent residents is not new, it has been happening for decades. Included among those sent back are refugees who sought shelter in the U.S. from war, persecution or violence. This talk will explore the legislation that allows for their deportation, telling the story largely through one group, Cambodian Americans who arrived after the Vietnam War. The trauma they endured, the role U.S. policy played in their displacement and what happened to them once they were resettled here, as well as how they fared after they were sent back, will all be discussed

Who We Are
The SLO Blues Organization has three (3) main objectives.

Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theatre itself! Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms.
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, Urinetown is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical could be, Urinetown catapults the "comedic romp" into the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.

The Laramie Project
June 12 & 13 at 7:00 PM - June 14 at 3:00 PM
CongregationHouse Productions is thrilled to present this Second Annual Reader’s Theater presentation of The Laramie Project.
Finding forgiveness, compasion, and hope even in the darkest times. The Laramie Progect is a breathtaking collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.
THE STORY: In October 1998, Matthew Shepard, a twenty-one-year-old student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming.
Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project made six trips to Laramie over the course of a year and a half, in the aftermath of the beating and during the trial of the two young men accused of killing Shepard. They conducted more than 200 interviews with the people of the town, the breadth of the reactions is fascinating. This production is a deeply moving theatrical experience from those interviews and their own experiences in Laramie.
For 2025 lineup and details about the festival, visit liveoakfest.org.

What's in a name? Oscar Wilde's classic comedy of manners, “The Importance of Being Earnest,” is a satirical look at Victorian society’s emphasis on appearances and social standing. Confusion results when two indolent young men both claim the name of Ernest to woo two young ladies who are outside their apparent social station. Jean Miller directs this delightful parody of status over substance.
The cast includes Topher Lyons and Wren Hall, and Jonah Duhe and Perri Gandy portraying the vain, but charming and witty, couples. A third flirtation develops between governess Janice Lamont and Reverend Chasuble. Laura Richie plays a snooty society maven, and Landen Scott portays a long-suffering butler.
“The Importance of Being Earnest' plays weekends June13-29 at 545 Shasta Ave. Morro Bay. Reservations at bytheseaproducitons.org or call 805-776-3287.

"Joyful Rhythms" Drum Circle
Facilitated Rhythm Experiences for Health and Well-being
Discover the transformative power of rhythm and connection through creative play in a fun-focused, dynamic drumming circle.
Guided by trained facilitator Dee DiGioia, Mindful Kindful YOUniversity
This facilitated drumming experience offers an uplifting and welcoming, inclusive space for people of all identities, cultures, ages, and abilities to come together and create joyful rhythms together in the spirit of community-building. [This is a family friendly event. Children must be accompanied by an adult.]
(Photos from our last gathering at SYYNC in collabration with The Diversity Coalition of SLO.)
No experience is necessary! Participants are gently supported through an engaging process that uses rhythm to spark creativity, connection, and joy. We emphasize social connection, emotional expression, and the transformative power of rhythm as tools to nurture well-being from the inside out.
Through playful rhythm games and dynamic activities, the group is invited to explore the instruments, build confidence, and connect with one another. Over time, the music begins to flow more freely and organically, as we co-create a rhythm ensemble that’s alive and ever-changing.
****LOGISTICS AND WHAT TO BRING****
Come early (or stay after) and enjoy dinner from one of the restaurants on site or the SLO Ranch Market Tri Tip BBQ dinner.
We'll be outdoors, so dress accordingly.
- Folding chair (some chairs provided but we may not have enough)
- Water bottle
- If you have a drum, bring one! Otherwise plenty of drums and a variety of percussion instruments are provided.
- "Found Sound" item (optional) - see description below!
To add to the playful, creative spirit of our Drum Circle, we invite you to go on a "Found Sound" Hunt!
Your Mission:
Before you arrive, explore indoors or outdoors and discover objects that make rhythmic or percussive sounds—but aren’t traditional instruments! Think: pots, pans, kitchen utensils, buckets, water bottles, rocks, sticks... the possibilities are endless and the more creative the better!
Look for items that can be:
- Struck (like a wooden spoon on a tin can)
- Shaken (like a jar with rice)
- Rubbed (like sandpaper blocks)
- Scraped (like a comb with a stick)
Materials can be metal, wood, plastic, paper, or natural elements like shells, pinecones, or seed pods. Use your imagination and let the rhythm find you!
Bring your Found Sound creation(s) to our circle and share in the joy of making music from everyday things. This is all about curiosity, play, and creative expression.
This challenge is not just for kids—this is a challenge for all ages! Let's see (and hear) your creative ideas!

Summer Solstice
Drumming Meditations in Rhythm with Nature
Facilitated by Dee DiGioia | Mindful Kindful YOUniversity
Gather with us beneath the golden glow of the season, around the warmth of a campfire, for a sweet, simple, sacred celebration of the Summer Solstice - the longest day of the year, when the Sun stands still and life is in full bloom and abundance.
A Sacred Celebration of Rhythm, Light & Joy
Through drumming, song, movement, and guided intention, we awaken the fire within — our passion, creativity, vitality, and joy. The Solstice marks a threshold — a time of illumination and expansion, inviting us to fully step into our light and power. Together, we will:
- Drum to awaken our inner radiance and align with the rhythms of the seasons
Tone, chant, and sing to open the voice and heart
Reflect on what we are ready to ignite, grow, and offer
Celebrate the abundance of life with movement, rhythm, and community connection
WHEN: 6:00 - 8:00pm (8:00 - 9:00 optional)
(From 8:00-9:00 we let the fire burn out while we enjoy conversation, spontaneous rhythm making, or quiet contemplation.)
PLEASE arrive early enough so that we can begin promptly. This is a structured event.
Drumming & Rhythm Exploration
This guided drumming experience invites you to awaken your spirit, explore creative expression, and come into coherence with the natural rhythms of the seasons and life. No prior drumming experience is needed—everyone is welcome! This is a space for free exploration, without pressure or perfection.
As we co-create rhythms together, we will let the energy flow, allowing the "song" to guide us naturally into meditative stillness. In these sacred moments of silence, we invite reflection, prayer, or quiet communion with nature, carrying the gift of rhythm deep into our hearts.
This circle will have a slightly different progression than our regular "Joyful Rhythms" Drum Circles and will likely include stories, inspirations, vocal toning and singing as well— inviting us to dive deeply into meditation rhythms, harmonies, and inner exploration, with the Fire Element (Sun) and nature supporting us. Drumming is one of the oldest forms of meditation known to humanity.
The Science & Spirit of Rhythm
Scientific research increasingly validates what ancient cultures have long known: drumming, song, and collective rhythm uplift our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Drumming connects us—to ourselves, to one another, and to the natural world.
Come as you are, and let yourself be uplifted by the rhythm and warmth of this sacred seasonal gathering.
Let us gather in rhythm…
Let us gather in joy…
Let us gather in light.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Drum and other percussion instruments will be provided! Feel free to bring your own if you have any. Other instruments (flutes, hand pans, didgeridoos, etc.) are also welcome.
- Seating: Bring your own outdoor chair.
- Water: Bring your own refillable water bottle.

Many of us older adults have trouble with our sleep. We tend to wake up frequently, have difficulty returning to sleep, take too many sleeping pills, and nap too much.
Fortunately, there are solutions available that don’t involve drugs. For example, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a method that has been proven in many studies to improve sleep and help people feel more energetic during the day.
Don Gaede, M.D. practiced internal medicine and vascular medicine for 40 years in Fresno before moving to San Luis Obispo. He suffered from insomnia for many years, but since receiving training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, he is sleeping much better. He would like to share some of these insights with you, so that you, too, can sleep more soundly.
Dr. Gaede graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, and completed an internal medicine residency at UCSF Fresno and a vascular medicine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. He practiced internal medicine and vascular medicine for 40 years in Fresno and now I volunteer weekly at the Noor Medical Clinic in San Luis Obispo.

Take a journey backstage to explore the twisting, uphill path that a Broadway musical takes to reach the stage. Explore the efforts of the 200 or more people who bring that production to life before the overture begins, and the curtain goes up on opening night.
Our trip will take us from the original concept to the marriage between the creative team and the production team. We’ll then learn how the show is sold since, after all, it is called show “business”. We’ll discover how the production takes shape backstage with its sets, costumes, lighting and casting. In addition to the all-important music we will even pay attention to the theatre owners and see what part they play in the process. Finally, we’ll visualize the rehearsals and the previews before we hit Broadway for, hopefully, a long run and, inevitably, its closing.

POLIO ERADICATION INITIATIVE:
In 1988, 350,000 people—mostly children under the age of 5—were paralyzed or died from polio. In an effort to protct the children of the world, Rotary and its partners formed the Global Polio Eradication Initiative with the bold commitment to permanently eradicate the disease.
Today cases have been reduced by 99.9% and it is estimated that 19.4 million people are walking who would otherwise have been paralyzed and 1.5 million lives have been saved. We can’t stop now. Until the disease iseradicated we risk 200,000 polio cases annually within 10 years.
For each $1 you donate to eradicate polio, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donates $2. Your donation of $25 becomes $75 and 25 of the world’s most vulnerable children can be protected from polio. Thank you for your generosity and support. Together we end polio.

The 15th Anniversary of the SLOPOKE Art of the West Exhibition and Sale will take place on the weekend of November 1st, 2025 at the Octagon Barn Center in San Luis Obispo, California.
10/31 - FRIDAY - 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM: Opening Reception
11/1 - SATURDAY - 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
11/2 - SUNDAY - 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
The Opening Reception is on Halloween: Friday evening Oct. 31st from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and it will be very special and lots of fun as we encourage folks to come in costume as their favorite western movie star or their favorite historic artist. All ticket holders are invited. SLOPOKE 2025 is then also open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1st & 2nd from 11 am until 6 pm.
The Octagon Barn is one of only 60 such surviving barns in the United States. Unique to San Luis Obispo, historically the design was cheaper to build than a traditional rectangular barn because a larger area could be covered using less material. Known as The Octagon Barn Center, it was recently restored by the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo as a regional event center. Located on the southern edge of the city close to the 101 freeway, hotels, and restaurants, it provides 5000 square feet of exhibit space, modern restrooms, and parking for 120 vehicles.
SLOPOKE is an annual juried art show that promotes the culture and spirit of the American West.
Historic imagery is integrated with scenes of the 21st Century west to tell the on-going story of the individuality, creativity, and grit of all American people. Nominally 35 artists are juried into the show based on their artistic skill, imagination, and the marketability of their work whether painting, sculpture, photography or other media. All genres from realism to unidentifiable are considered based on these merits. Original art competes for Best of Show, Best Painting, Best Sculpture, Best Animal/Wildlife Art, Best Figurative Art, Best Depiction of the 21st Century West, and People’s Choice awards determined by an independent Featured Artist/Awards Jurist. Generally, a good mix of experienced and emerging artists are presented to art collectors at reasonable prices and without the need to travel to a large metropolitan area to see new art.
